Confidence according to Merriam-Webster.com is a feeling or belief that you can do something well or succeed at something. The feedback that I get the most from clients is that I boosted their confidence. Over the years, I have helped clients preparing for all different kinds of life events. Without having some faith that they could be successful or be good at something, they would not have been able to go forward, have achieved and succeeded.
A very memorable client was one who was preparing for his daughter's wedding. He was incredibly afraid of speaking in public. He was even nervous about coming into the office for his appointment. Bless him! :) We prepared his speech, practiced it, and worked on some exercises in relaxation. In a very emotional situation, where his only daughter was getting married, he was able to make his speech and do it well. Another of my clients struggled with interviewing. The process was daunting to her. Being a perfectionist was one of the things that made it so hard. She was her worst enemy and her self-talk was negative. We had to make her believe that she could do this well and that she could succeed at the job she was applying for. I am not magic. I can't make that happen automatically. The only thing I can think of is that I must have changed that client's thinking. Their thoughts had gone from a negative to a positive. And just a little input can boost that confidence. That is what I would like to do for you!
