Today I’d like to talk about the first of two (2) things that can lead us to misunderstanding forgiveness
On the best moment of my best day I am still in complete need of God’s forgiveness.
Forgiveness is a foundational principle of life and especially for followers of Jesus Christ. It’s a soothing ointment that pushes back the tide of anger, bitterness and wrath that can well up inside of us.
But there is another side of forgiveness that is seldom discussed that can keep you from moving forward into the kind of person that God desires.

Forgiveness is not a get out of jail free card. We may have the idea that we can hurt someone or they can hurt us. Then expect to be forgiven and move on with the relationship as if nothing has happened. Adam and Eve were forgiven of their sin in the garden but their relationship with God was forever changed. There was nothing they could do to regain the same intimate relationship they had with God before they sinned. They received His eternal forgiveness but still suffered the short term consequences of their sin.
So ask for forgiveness and freely forgive others but remember that things have forever changed.
Join us next time as we discuss one more misunderstanding of forgiveness. Until then at Faith Forward Coaching we are praying this helps you move forward today.
