I was studying this morning for an upcoming lesson. Deep into God’s word, contemplating what he might have me say (and what actually might be heard) to a group of 12th grade young men that I help teach when I was rudelyinterrupted.
Magnificent Rain Storm
Now mind you as I was sitting out under a pavilion on a beautiful lake, completely surrounded by God’s beauty and I had my head in a book. It was the bible, I was reading good stuff when God interrupted my study with a magnificent rain storm that gently rolled across the lake.
I was forced to stop and listen to sounds of the rain hitting the water and falling through the leaves on the trees. I was made to watch the small pools of water form around me and glide their way to water to below. I had to smell the cool clean air that rain brought forth.
All that to say that sometimes to move forward we need to stop. We need to stop and enjoy the majesty of our world. We need to stop our often good activities(remember I was reading the Bible) and remind ourselves there is more to world than endless pursuits and events. We need to stop, cut out the chatter, and listen to sounds of a nature around us.
Often times to move forward, we simply need to pause and reflect. Reevaluate what and who we need to follow. And just listen and look at the world that given us to enjoy.
At Faith Forward Coaching, we are praying this helps you slow down and move forward today.
