Our thoughts are a powerful influence on how feel and react to situations in our lives. Unhealthy thinking can quickly take us down a path of personal destruction and harmful behaviors. Here are four healthy things to focus on that may help you move forward.
Truth, Right, Simple, Admire
Focus on positive things that you know are true even if you don’t feel them at the moment. Such as the love of family, friends and God or the smallest of things for which you are grateful.
Focus on things that are right in your life and in the world. Everyday day or every moment are not bad. So think about the good days and all the good people you know and remember how awesome they made you feel.
Focus on simpleunpolluted and uncontaminated things you see and hear. The color of a flower or the beauty of a sunset. The sound of a gentle breeze, waves crashing against the shoreline, or a child’s laughter. The smell of baking bread, fresh cut grass or a warm bonfire.
Focus on people you admire and why you admire them. Do you admire them because they are honest, hardworking, ethical or loyal? Think about how you can incorporate those traits into your life and be grateful for their example.
