In the famous story of Moses and the burning bush we see how God helped overcome his fear of rejection so he could become a great leader for Israel.
The beginning of Fear
When Moses is seeking to establish himself as the leader of his people he kills an Egyptian soldier oppressing a fellow Israelite. He thought this action would earn him praise but instead is rejected by his peers and chased out of town by Pharaoh and his men. His fear causes him to spend the next 40 years living in the wilderness. He lives without purpose and becomes completely cut off from his people because he can’t overcome his fear of rejection.
Debilitating fears will often keep us from our life purpose and we will live our lives looking backwards rather than toward our future.
You can Overcome Rejection
The fear of rejection can be overcome. So how did God help Moses and how will he help you overcome that fear in your life?
God helped Moses remember his purpose, who still loved him and why he was still important. At first Moses pretended he was humble said “who am I” but this was really Moses saying “Look God I have already been rejected by my people once and been rejected by the people that raised me. I don’t want to feel that pain again.
Words of Assurance
It always amazes me that God understands exactly how we feel and what we need when we are facing the pain of rejection.
He simple says, “I will be with you”. With those beautiful Words of Assurance God gives each of us what we need to overcome the pain of rejection. Those soft, kind, gentle words that reminds us that we are never alone in our pain and that it is never game over when God is walking with us to help us achieve our life purpose.
At Faith Forward Coaching, we are praying that today you hear God’s words of love and assurance so that you can move forward today.
