Abs workout TOP TIPS!
Here are some simple tips that you can do while performing any abs workout that will help you become stronger, faster. These tips will also help you ensure that you build your abs the correct way, so that you have that tight, toned look, and not a bulky looking gut! As far as overall health and safety go, you will also learn how to perform each ab exercise without injuring your lower back and other tricky parts of the body. Here we go!
How to Get Abs: Top 3 Tips for Ab Workouts!
Always contract abs while performing each exercise by pulling your stomach in toward your spine! Don't think "sucking in," but instead, think of drawing your belly button to the back of your spine, lift your sternum, and keep good breath flow. Allowing your belly to sag outward, or flexing your abdominal muscles without first drawing them in, will cause your abs to build outward and give you the appearance of having belly fat. It can also put unwanted stress on your lower back, because your spine will not be supported correctly while performing your exercises! So pull those abs in tight, and keep breathing!
Breath! Speaking of breathing, you want to keep a good rhythm of breath. Do not hold your breath!!! It is very important to remember to inhale on the easy part of the rep, and exhale on the difficult part. When you are on the captain's chair, for example, breath out while your legs are lifting and your abs are contracting, and then breath in again as you slowly lower them back down.
Keep the rest of your body in check! Whether you are on the captain's chair or you are doing a plank, do not let your shoulders begin to rise toward your ears, or your back begin to bend in any direction. Keeping focused on the rest of your body's form is just as important as thinking about your core while performing your upper, mid, and your lower ab workout! That mind-body connection is what will really improve your gains, so the more you can attach your mind to your muscles in your whole body during exercise, the more you will start to see your results grow.
Alright guys, I hope this has been helpful for you and that you are inspired to go out and get the abs of your dreams!! Good luck with these abs workout tips and tricks!
