It seems like we have to eat something every day, doesn't it? Well, I guess that's because we do. But sometimes you need it quick, and most of the quick options we have consist of fast food, or fast food, or sometimes just fast food. You know what I mean? And when you're trying to eat healthy, fast food just doesn't cut it. It's just not that good anyway. Try not eating any fast food at all for a month, and then see how you like it! You'll love it at first, then you'll realize how bad it really makes you feel.
That's because fast food has basically no nutrients. Of course, there is some food in there, but for the amount of calories it's made of, the payoff, nutritionally speaking, is a pretty sad picture. One thing you can be sure of though - fast food does deliver in the calorie department! And does it ever. Most fast food places are starting to put the calories on their menus, now that more people care. But I still see many people ordering all kinds of gloppy junk at fast food joints, and that's why most of them are overweight.
I don't want to feed my family that kind of stuff, I want them to be strong & healthy, and live a long time. So that's why we try hard to keep healthy snacks and other food around the house. On that day when everyone is running out the door at the last minute, without time to cook or really fix much food of any type, we try to have something on hand that will make a great snack to get us to that next meal - or even a whole meal that's ready to eat, and healthy at the same time!
In this video, we'll show you how to capitalize on just a little effort, and we all benefit from the results. We just try to keep some good meat around that we can throw in the crock pot or the oven really quick, then divide it up in containers in the fridge or freezer. Then we can break it out, along with some good fruit, berries, veggies, maybe some cheese, a few whole wheat or gluten-free crackers, and we're good! Here's how to do it in about 5 minutes (the video takes 7 minutes, but only because of all the talking!), and you'll feel better all morning - plus, you'll be healthier!
