Hey babes! If you are on a 1200 calorie diet, or other restricted calorie intake diet plan, you know how hard it can be to maintaining your energy levels and have enough fuel to power through your gym sessions! In my video tutorial, I am going to show you guys how to keep up your energy levels when you are on a 1200 calorie diet. If you are looking to lose weight, and more specifically to trim down on fat or reach a lower body fat percentage, understanding the importance of leaving your self in a calorie deficit for each day is a crucial part in reaching your goals. While I do not believe that lowering your calorie intake is the most or only important part when you're goal is to lose weight, I do believe that in order to lose the weight that you want to lose you need to take in less energy than you are expanding. This could mean decreasing your calories, increasing your activity level or exercise, or for best results, both! However, whenever you are cutting calories to lean out, you will feel a dip in your energy levels, especially for the first few days of a new 1200 calorie diet. If you want to continue exercising or training at your highest intensity while on a restricted calorie diet, you will need to keep your energy levels up as much as possible! You don't want to burn yourself out by trying to maintain high levels of activity such as weightlifting or running if you are not fueling your body with enough energy to do so.
If you are training for a body competition, you obviously know how critical it is to achieving your extreme goals to measure and calculate every ounce of food that you take in each day! I like to calculate my energy snack into my daily caloric intake, but I prefer to keep this snack on hand all the time to just pop in when my energy levels start to tank! Curious as to what this little portable, paleo, gluten free, vegan, and high-energy snack is?? You’ll have to watch my tutorial to find out! :P
Keeping a clean diet is essential when you are on a 1200 calorie diet, because you have to make sure you are cramming in all of your essential nutrients into those calories!! You definitely don’t want to be wasting your calories on emptier nutritionally bankrupt foods, because your health will suffer in the long run. You will also notice more hunger, skin problems, and energy depletion if you are not careful to consume your calories from nutrient-dense items. In my video, I show you guys my favorite on-the-go snack that gives me the calories I need for fuel, while providing me with essential fatty acids, and protein that I need to feed my muscles and my body on a macro- and micronutrient level!! Your body will thank you, and you will be able to stick to that 1200 calorie diet with a lot more ease when you follow my simple tips in my video.
