The digital age has made for some pretty radical changes, especially in the arena of work and where it takes place. But with more and more people jettisoning the nine to five work week and instead taking on the freedom afforded by a work-from-anywhere lifestyle, the question stands: where are all these people working from? In the case of Berlin’s remote-working crowd, that would be at the best remote work locations in Berlin, of course.
Berlin is at the epicenter of Europe in a lot of ways. Its international population includes many freelancers, a group made up of designers, photographers, developers and everything else in-between. And while most of that crowd so readily accepts the work-from-home concept, not everyone can stand to work from home all time. Luckily enough, Berlin’s cafe scene couldn’t be stronger. Craft coffee shops are everywhere in the city and there are more and more opening up all the time. The question then isn’t really about finding great coffee shops, but more about figuring out which of those offer the most work-friendly conditions. For that, we tested many of them out and came to our own conclusions about the best remote working locations in Berlin.
Best Internet Cafes in Berlin
In our humble opinion, it takes way more than good internet to be considered a reputable internet cafe. And the best internet cafes in Berlin are no exception to that rule. They are the best remote working locations for that very reason. They aren’t just places with high download speeds and bandwidth. As we mentioned, we started from an already narrowed list. Starbucks and Balzac were never on the list to begin with. We started instead with the craft coffee establishments of the city and narrowed it down from there. The results were basically a list of the best coffee shops in town where one could set up and work for a while.
Remote Work Locations in Berlin
Along with great coffee and solid wifi, there are a few other things to consider when determining the best remote work locations in Berlin. For us, those included some practicals like table space, power outlets and things like that. Who cares if a cafe has incredible coffee but nowhere to sit? We’ll gladly go for a Saturday morning espresso, but that just won’t cut it when we’re looking to accomplish big things. And what about those times when you’re all settled in, just reaching that zone where everything is flowing smoothly and the low battery notification pops up? If that means interrupting the flow than count us out. We’d obviously rather choose a trusty spot on the front end knowing that we won’t have to bail out for some unforeseen reason. If you’re with us and looking for the best remote work locations in Berlin, have a peek at our guide. Productivity beckons.
