Berlin is a vibrant city with a vastly diverse cultural landscape. Within this highly international make-up exist droves of creative types – freelancers, designers, filmmakers and musicians. A common thread running through these people of various creative professions is that they are all very much in need of inspiring places to get work done. There is of course a robust amount of craft coffee shops caffeinating the city and its residents, but even within the space of excellent cafés, we came to the painful conclusion that not all are properly equipped to serve Berlin’s freelance working community. For that, we had to develop a list of the best work-friendly cafes in Berlin.

In our search for the best remote working locations in Berlin, we felt like good coffee was at least one of the pillars of a great work-friendly coffee shop. For that reason we began our search with the craft coffee shops of the city. But great coffee only goes so far. We’re always fans of lazy hangs at a small coffee shop simply to enjoy the juicy espresso, but when it comes to getting work done we found that there were a few other criteria making for a good remote working location. The shop must also have a great atmosphere and of course, reliable wifi.

But the best coffee shops for working remotely are the ones with the holy trinity of great coffee, strong, fast internet, and lots of tables and chairs. Berlin’s remote working population seems to also hold these in high regard, as the shops that have them are always frequented by MacBook-using individuals. We are no exception.
