I was recently at Ulta (well, to be honest, I am there at least once a week so that's nothing new) and I found a truly intriguing product: Magnetic Mascara by Pür Cosmetics. Alright, so not knowing anything about science related topics, I decided to reach out to a friend of mine who does. I asked what on earth this magnetic mascara stuff does. He tried to put it simply for me the way the mascara works is that this mascara works as plastic beads that help to link together to lengthen and thicken the lash.
Let's start with the cost, like I mentioned, I found this product at Ulta here in America for $22.00, which isn't super cheap for a mascara, especially because one of my favorite mascaras I get for less than $10.00 from Ulta (L'Oreal Voluminous Carbon Black Mascara). But it doesn't deter me because my other favorite mascara is from Too Faced Better Than Sex and costs $23.00. I noticed absolutely no difference between the magnetic mascara and normal mascara. I naturally have long lashes that curl upwards (#blessed) so I don't really need too much from a mascara. I like a mascara that is really black and helps to lengthen and thicken. The brush is nothing special, it's pretty basic.
I leave it on throughout the day to see how it held up. The mascara held up really well. There was no flaking and the mascara stayed looking nice throughout the day, so those were all positive things. I wanted to love this mascara so much but I just couldn't bring myself to feel super strongly about it.
