Yes, you read that right, magnetic mascara. I was intrigued too when I first saw that that. I was walking around Ulta when I happened upon a tube that read "Fully Charged Mascara Powered by Magnetic Technology" by Pür Cosmetics, which retails at Ulta here in America for $22.00. Naturally, being intrigued, I decided to purchase this to put it to the test.
Let's start off with the claims of this mascara according to Pür Cosmetics website: "Megawatt Mascara. Opposites attract with this anti-aging mascara that has a "magnetic" polymer matrix that wraps a positively charged elastic veil around each lash to instantly lift, separate and define each lash for long-lasting performance." Seriously, how could someone not be intrigued? Now, to start off, I don't understand the anti-aging claims. I don't understand how a mascara can prevent wrinkles, I normally just use mascara on my lashes and try to avoid getting it onto my skin. Maybe that's just me, though?
Alright so anti-aging claims aside, let's talk about the lifted, separated and defined lashes it claims. My lashes are naturally long and curled so I don't need much from a mascara to make my lashes look presentable, this mascara really did not do much for my lashes. The black is not a super intense black that I like best and my lashes seemed no longer than if I had just used my favorite mascara, Too Faced Better Than Sex, I would even say my favorite drugstore mascara (Loreal Voluminous) beats this mascara out.
To apply this mascara you need to hold it at the base of your lash for a couple of seconds before wiggling it back and forth. This may not sound like a big deal, but it actually makes the mascara applying process take much longer and when I am trying to get ready in the mornings I want my routine to go as quickly as possible.
Now at the end of the day, this mascara looks nice but I wouldn't say that it is anything special or worth the $22.00 price tag. I can't speak about the anti-aging properties of this product yet, but I am still not quite sure how that would work. All that to say, my lashes look fine, but there are much better mascaras out there.
I hope you found this helpful and thank you for watching! See you in the next video.
