With the Olympics in full swing, I can't help but notice how amazingly different and amazingly beautiful all of the competitors are. Despite the fact that Olympic athletes come in all shapes and sizes, they are all in amazing physical condition, if they weren't then they wouldn't be able to compete at such a level. The health of these athletes got me thinking about the health of our own bodies and how our skin can be a reflection of our health.
In my video, I discuss my favorite skincare products, but aside from using products to keep our skin happy and healthy, what else can we do for our skin? There are actually a number of ways to help keep our skin healthy, one of the most well known, in my opinion, is to drink plenty of water. How much water exactly is dependent upon height and weight, but be sure your drinking enough to help flush toxins from your system. Drinking enough water isn't the only kind of hydration your skin needs, be sure you are using some kind of moisturizer after you wash your face. I know, I know, those of us with oily skin may be hesitant at first, so just trust me on this, okay? Your skin needs the moisture so it won't try to produce all the missing oils.
Another great way to keep skin healthy is by using a sunscreen regularly. I actually discuss two of my favorite sunscreens in my video, but if you are keeping your skin free from sun damage then that is a win. Another win is to not touch your skin. I feel like such a hypocrite for even mentioning it. I know the temptation is real, but don't do it.
While I am talking about the hypocritical ways of mine, let's touch upon the topic of makeup brushes. Those tools you use to make yourself feel beautiful can be causing your skin to flare up. Try to be washing your brushes once a week. It doesn't have to be with any fancy brush cleaner, baby shampoo will work just fine. Just be sure to get rid of the bacteria build-up on those things. Personally, I find cleaning brushes to be a dull task, so throw on some music you enjoy or a YouTube video and hopefully, it won't seem so bad.
Using great products to keep your skin happy and healthy is important, it is important to be paying attention to other ways to keep your skin healthy too. So if you're like me and you struggle with some of these, or if you just aren't doing some, give them a try and see if it helps to clear your skin up.
Thank you so much for reading and watching, I do hope you found it helpful. See you in my next video.
