It's officially the most wonderful time of the year and I couldn't be more excited. I love this time of year so to celebrate it's glorious arrival, I decided to create a super simple, beginner-friendly holiday makeup look. I also used only (omitting one product) drugstore products so not only is it beginner-friendly, it's also budget-friendly as well. This look is perfect for those Ugly Christmas Sweater parties, Hanukkah parties, or for Christmas day itself.
Makeup Used
To start off, I used the only non-drugstore item I used for the video, which is my face primer, Benefit Cosmetics Porefessional. Following that, I used my favorite drugstore foundation Maybelline's Fit Me Matte and Poreless foundation and I also used Maybelline's Master Conceal and Master Contour products too. I walk through where to contour on your face for those who are just starting out. I used L'Oreal Voluminous Mascara as well as their Nude eyeshadow palette, which is a great affordable option to the Naked Palettes by Urban Decay. The brand has three different options I believe so I grabbed my favorite one. I don't talk about it in the video, but the colors are gorgeous and feel and glide on beautifully. After applying the eyeshadow, I used a Nyx Slide-On eye pencil to line my eyes (as close to the lash line as possible) and then I used a L'Oreal Infallible lipstick to finish up the look. I have stated in previous videos that I do not enjoy myself with red lipstick, so I used a bright fuchsia color for the video, but any color will work. Becuase I used a bright lip color I kept the eyes looking fairly neutral. As a personal preference, I try to keep makeup looks natural looking, just as a way to enhance our beauty rather than as a way to hide. With that being said, I keep the contour light, so if you prefer a more dramatic contour just make it a bit darker, just remember if you have a cool undertone to the skin to use a cool undertone shade, and if you have a warm undertone to use a warm shade to contour.
That about sums everything up. Oh! Just a quick side note, this video had some complications with it, but you all get to see me in two different outfits and with two different hairstyles. Thank you for your understanding of the issues of technology, and also thank you all so much for taking the time to watch this video. I truly hope you found it helpful and I look forward to posting more next week!
