Fall Makeup
With the weather getting colder, the
makeup looks are shifting to darker colors. Now, I actually get really excited about this since I really like the dark makeup looks so when I was looking at what was new on Ulta's website and saw a
black lipstick called Black Lace Rabbit by Lipstick Queen I had to try it.
Black Lipstick
What I really love about this lipstick is that it is a sheer lipstick, allowing you to layer it over a more opaque lipstick instead of just being a black lipstick.
With each of the lipsticks, they kept their underlying color but took on a darker hue, making it perfect for the fall and winter months.
My Experience with the lipstick was a surprising one. I had very low expectations for this lipstick. I bought it as part of the Lipstick Queen Smokey Lip Kit so the black color came along with a pinky nude color to layer underneath it. I decided to test this lipstick out over three different colored lipsticks, one was the
Lipstick Queen pinky nude color, one was Laura Geller red, and one was a
Mac Cosmetics purple color. (As someone who doesn't typically wear a red lipstick because I have red hair, this layering pair is what I was most excited and nervous about.) Now I was a bit underwhelmed by the first color, but the more I layered it over the different colors the more it grew on me. This lipstick allowed me to take a lipstick that may be considered a spring/summer color and transform it into a fall/winter color.
This lipstick layers beautifully! The lipstick glided on so nicely and evenly. The base color still showed through enough so that you could see what the original color was, but it looked deeper and darker. It feels light and moisturizing on the lips and actually looks really pretty. The gold flakes within the lipstick don't really show if you are wearing a dark color underneath the lipstick, but when I applied the lipstick alone (no, that is not what the package says to do, I was just curious) the gold showed up a bit better.
Something I mention in my video is that this lipstick fits in perfectly with the new vampy look that is so in right now, but if you are one who prefers a more natural looking lip then I would not suggest this color, however, if you are in the market for a new dark lipstick then I would ultimately have to recommend this lipstick.
I hope you found this article helpful on your hunt for a new fall makeup look! Thank you so much for watching and reading and I will see you all in my next video!
