Beauty is such a sensitive and controversial subject. In this weeks video I decided to dive into the subject of beauty. With all the pressures that society places on women to look a certain way it is so difficult for women to feel beautiful. We care able to scroll through Instagram and Facebook and see all the amazingly beautiful women living their perfect lives and without even thinking about it, well or maybe thinking about it, we compare our own looks and lives to theirs.
I have struggled with acne for a very long time and it constantly effects how I view myself, especially after having started uploading to YouTube. The older I get the more I learn that it is not about how society views us, but how we view ourselves. We have to shift the focus of our lives away from how society claims we should look over to how we should view ourselves. As long as we are living healthy lifestyles then our size shouldn't matter.
In complete contrast to the standard of looking beautiful in societies eyes, there seems to be the other part of society saying that wanting to be beautiful makes you shallow. I believe that we, as women, were created with the desire to be beautiful. Instead of shaming women for wanting to be beautiful or tearing women down for not looking a certain way we should be building up women in our lives.
My hopes for making this video is to help encourage other girls who may be struggling with how they are viewing themselves. This topic truly is one that is very close to my heart and I have felt the need to share this part of my story for a while now. If you are struggling with how you view yourself, then you are no alone and we can be working to view ourselves as the beautiful creations that God has made us to be. I know that God is not a popular topic, but I do believe He created everyone beautiful, seeing our own beauty is what is most difficult.
I do hope you enjoyed the video and that it did help to encourage you. Thank you for watching!
