Is there a difference between teaching songs and worship songs? Can you sing popular worship songs in your kids ministry, or do you need to only sing teaching songs? The lyrics of teaching songs would only be about the teaching theme of the day. Is worship time for repeating the teaching theme, or about talking to God and telling Him that He is Lord?
We prefer worship songs. We prefer singing hymns that are especially crafted for kids, or popular songs that are crafted for children to be able to sing. Teach your children to worship God, to tell God that they believe Him and that they love Him. Cultivate and encourage that relationship between your kids and their God.
We have a collection of songs with a virtual worship leader that include simple motions that your kids can do while singing. We like simple, easy to do motions, because not everyone is qualified to be on the dance team. Also, simple motions help kids to remember and learn the lyrics, while detailed and impossible motions take all their attention. Our motions are to help the children to engage in the songs and remember God’s truth told through the lyrics. Sometimes, a bit of motion is good for young children, so that they can later focus on the stories and the message from the teacher.
This Is the Day, from Psalm 118:24, is a wonderful way to encourage thankfulness and joy, because God made today. You do not need to spend hours with the teacher’s video to learn the motions, the kids can do them from the first viewing just by following the virtual worship leader.
