This time of the year is wonderful! I love it! You can theme out your environment with all sorts of decorations. You can use music before and after class, and it your choice of songs to sing in class.
December is for Christmas songs. Most songs can be easily sung all year, but this is not so with Christmas songs. These special songs are only used for a few weeks. Take advantage of this opportunity to make your music fresh by including Christmas music in class, even if it takes a little more planning and rehearsals. Try to mix the fun songs and the familiar songs. You can use some songs like “Jingle Bells” or “Frosty the Snowman.” But, be sure to sing songs like “Joy to the World” and “O Come All Ye Faithful” because of their Christmas message.
Read Luke 2:13-20 to your kids. The angels and the shepherds praised God! In this Christmas story there is a lot of worship happening. The greatest gift ever has been given to us. Our Savior was born to us. It is the best reason to sing and worship God. Use this Christmas season to illustrate worship in a different way than what you have been teaching all year. It is a good story.
Luke 2:19 says that Mary kept all these things in her heart. She pondered and remembered them over and over.
What are those God moments for you this year?
How have you experienced God's provision and God's faithfulness this year
Did you have any favorite moment in children's ministry this year?
Keep these moments in your heart to treasure over and over.
