DVDs are great for kid’s singing, and there are more options available than ever from companies like God’s Kids Worship, Uncle Charlie/Upward Bound, and Shout Praises Kids. A $30 DVD player and a donated TV can turn any room into a worship center; whether it’s a living room, a small room on a missions trip, or an auditorium. DVDs work with big screens and computers too, making them a terrific resource for all of your kids ministry gatherings, any day of the week. With on-screen lyrics and professional recordings, the pressure is off the volunteers, and kids can be free to fully worship. Some DVDs, like God’s Kids Worship Year-Round Sing Along DVDs, include worship orders, countdown clocks seasonal songs and more. They can take the planning load off teachers who might otherwise load lyrics into overheads or PowerPoint slides, and advance them manually while CDs and cassettes play.
Worship - blessings in return
When kids worship God; He is pleased by their worship. Colossians 33:16 says, “With thankful hearts we sing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs to God.” As our kids give their worship to God, He gives back to them blessings that fill them with thankfulness.
Matt Redman in the foreword to “I Could Sing of Your Love Forever” published by Regal Books says, “Our worship songs are for Jesus - yet as they work their way out of our hearts and toward heaven, they so often work wonders in us.”
Lead your kids into worship. It’s not hard, and it starts with singing. You don’t need a lot from volunteers, just good recordings that sing of eternity in spirit and truth. And, great news! God doesn’t require good voices, just enthusiastic hearts:
Praise him with the blast of the horn!
Praise him with the lyre and the harp!
Praise him with the tambourine and with dancing!
Praise him with stringed instruments and the flute!
Praise him with loud cymbals!
Praise him with clanging cymbals!
Let everything that has breath praise the Lord!
