Yancy had the desire to explore singer/songwriter terrain using the banner of "music that makes Jesus loud." Thus began many songwriter trips to Nashville, TN along with many other new artists. Audiences and industry executives were impressed. Yancy won the Gospel Music Association's International Spotlight Competition, and scored the "Best Artist" position in WordRecords.com. She was also named one of the "Best 25 Independent Artists by 7Ball Magazine. Yancy is personally producing a steady string of her own artist-centric material, including "Jesus, Glitter and Rock-N-Roll." Her songs have been performed and recorded by Avalon and Jaci Velasquez. She has co-written with Mac Powell of Third Day. Not only a songwriter, but a performer, appearing with Michael W Smith, Newsboys and Plum. She took home the "Best Christian Indie Solo Artist" award from Readers' Choice.

Worship Songs for Family and Their Children

When Yancy moved to Church on the Move in Tulsa, Ok, she began leading worship and writing song for the children there. Although she still records studio albums for adults, these kid-friendly songs were embraced by children, especially the praise songs. The Kidmin ministry needed the new songs for their kids, songs that were not only kid-friendly, but songs that pointed the children toward God. These songs became known as the Little Praise Party Series for songs made available on CDs and on DVDs accompanied by cartoon characters to help the children visualize the word and stories portrayed in those tunes. Being a mom, Yancy knows what it takes to keep the kids both uplifted and entertained by the music.

Oceans - From the Kidmin Worship series. Originally by Hillsong United. Yancy puts her spin on this modern worship song. This song sings about trusting and having faith and desiring for our relationship with the Lord to go deeper than we ever have before.
