The pedals the company has released up to now have become staples on players boards everywhere. In 2017, The company looks like it is going to continue to add some inspiring effects to their catalog. In combination with the new effects being added to the line up, Walrus Audio has also announced a totally new utility line. We got out first look at all the new products on Instagram.
RED High-Gain Distortion
This is the first of the new pedals to be released this year, currently,on pre-order, it will be available early spring. This pedal is going to be a super high gain distortion that promises to get dirty. According to Walrus Audio, it will make you want to, “Tune Down and put on a Viking helmet”. If you still have questions on the difference between overdrive and distortion, you’ll want to check out this post.
The Pedal will feature bass, mid, and treble boost and cut. You will also see the typical volume and gain controls. There is also a “texture” toggle which will change the compression levels and overall tone. Keep an eye out for his pedal as orders begin shipping soon.
Monument Harmonic Tremolo
We first caught wind of this pedal at summer NAMM in 2016. This pedal with feature an analog signal path that will controlled by a digital LFO. This is very similar to the Chase Bliss Audio pedals. Players will also have the option of both a standard tremolo or harmonic.
Other Releases
Jupiter V2
-This pedal should be hitting the shelves in February. This will contain several minor updates to the already Classic fuzz pedal. There hasn't been much buzz yet about what new features you'll see on the V2, but expect general improvements and maybe a few new parameters.
Warhorn Overdrive
– Starting March start looking for these to show up on your friend's pedalboards. This has been referred to as a midrange overdrive. This means you can probably expect it to sound similar to the Tubescreamer family. We will do our best to update you as we learn more.
Arp-87 Multifunction Delay
This is the biggest mystery to us. Right now the expected release is July 2017. The one thing that is certain: you can never have too much delay.
Utility Line
The other thing we are excited about is the Walrus Audio Utility Line. There isn't anything here that you haven't seen before, but you can expect high a well-made product that gets the job done. Next time you need a blend pedal, AB Switcher, or Tap Tempo, you might want to check with the team at Walrus.
2017 is sure to be a big year for Walrus Audio. As you get to try out these pedals for yourself let us know what you think on Twitter or Instagram. Happy Playing!
