If you love ambient guitar tones then it is essential you have a good volume pedal. These allow you to let your chords ring out without hearing the initial attach. Add some delay and reverb to the mix and now you've got soundscapes for days. There are a ton of great volume pedals to there. One of our current favorites is the Bloomery Volume Pedal by Tapestry Audio.
The Bloomery
This is one of the smallest volume pedals on the market, but dot let its size fool you. The Bloomery gives you a full sweep and its sensitivity still gives you full control over your volume. This pedal is built for the road. It is tough and can take a beating, and still keep going. The other great thing about the design is that it uses an sliding potentiometer rather than a string. This means the life of this pedal is much longer than others on the market. Another plus to the Bloomery is that it is quiet, and it has stayed quiet as long as it has been on my board. No morescratch pots ruining your sweet or haunting swells.
One unique design feature on this pedal is that full volume is reached just past 90 degrees. For players using an angled board this feels a little more natural and comfortable. The biggest pro about this pedal will always be it's size. Making the switch to the Tapestry Audio Bloomery opened space for two more pedals on my board. Extra space with out compromising functionality is always a win in our book.
Aside from color options, there are two versions of the Bloomery. Tapestry Audio has built bot a passive and active version of this pedal. The active version has a built in buffer so that there is no worry of tone loss when using the tuner out. A nice plus for those that choose the passive version is that it can also be used as an expression pedal with the flip of a switch.
Final Thoughts
All in all the team over at Tapestry Audio really hit is out of the park with the Bloomery Volume pedal. It has been a great addition to my personal pedalboard, and would be a great addition to any players board. If you decide to make the switch be sure to share your playing with us on twitter or instagram!
Happy Playing!
