This is a nice change of pace from the typical tubescreamer sound and gives players more tonal options. This versatile drive is perfect for a first or second stage drive.
Pulp n' Peel
There is a never ending debate on What is the Best Compressor Pedal, and this pedal is always referenced as one of the top options. We have seen this pedal change over the past few years as JHS as continued to improve on an already great design. The current version of the pedal, V4, offers four different controls. Players will be able to effect: Volume, Comp, EQ, and Blend. A unique feature on this pedal is the dirt toggle. This switch allows players to mix a little bit of overdrive into the compressed signal. This extra texture can give your tone the edge it needs to stand out in the mix without overwhelming your band mates. This has been called the compression pedal for players who don't like compression. One other interesting option on this pedal is the XLR output. The superbolt is a more recent addition to the JHS family, but it has quickly become one of their staples. This overdrive pedal was inspired by the famous sound of the 60's era Supro amps. This console is has been used by huge artist like Steely Dan, Led Zepplin, and The Beatles. One of the most iconic sounds produced from the Neve is the guitar part on "Revolution" by The Beatles. The tone on the record was actually achieved by plugging the guitar straight into the console. Since this isn't very easy to do in a live setting, JHS developed this pedal to emulate that effect onstage.
This pedal was born through a collaboration between JHS and StuG of the band Delirious. As a recording artist StuG needed a versatile pedal that he could use for any song both in the studio and later on stage. What they ended up with was The Kilt. This pedal is capable of everything from a light transparent dive to a rich Fuzz. This dual drive has two independent channels. The left side is a recreation of the Expadora and the right is a JFET boost. Players can use either side separately or combine the two for a completely new tone. In the end, this incredibly flexible pedal can help you create any tone you need for almost any situation.
