How to Work Remotely
Once big question I often get from my friends, as well as people online, is how I am able to hold down a job while I am traveling so much! The simple answer to that is, I found a way to work remotely from my laptop and phone, so no matter where I am, I can take my work with me! I love being able to set up my office on a park bench, at a coffee shop, in the airport, or even on a beach somewhere. Here are some tips on how to find a remote job that suits you!
Excluding multi level marketing opportunities, which I find do not work for me personally, here are three ideas that you may want to explore.
1. Become a marketer for Incline! If you have any marketing skills whatsoever, this company is great to work for. It’s also safe for beginners, because there is not a quota for how many sales you have to make, nor are there contracts or any type of buy-ins. They pay a super high monthly percentage on every sale you make, which is cool because it can really stack up for you, and you can take time off to travel whenever and still get paid! You can also market in the places you want to travel to, and if you set up meetings and sell while you’re on a trip, you can write the trip off on your taxes! Plus, you may be able to pay for the entire trip by selling one package, which is a pretty sweet deal. Check out that marketing opportunity here!
2. Become a content writer! If writing comes as second nature to you, content writing could be a great fit for you! Companies will pay by the word for written content, so as long as you have your laptop with you, you can work on the go. If you have the dedication, you can start your own blog. It takes a few years of just pounding it out, but if you are consistent and grow a reader base, you can end up making some ad money off of your own website, as well as possibly exchanging reviews for travel company’s services! Another way to stay on budget for traveling, and getting paid on top of that. In the meantime, content writing can generate quicker cash. Here is a cool content writing opportunity for anyone who is comfortable writing news articles in the medical field! Apply to be a content writer here.
3. Teach English online! If you are a native English speaker, there are companies out there who are looking for people like you to simply teach English lessons over the internet. Most of these companies require some kind of college degree, but several only require that you are a native English speaker. The curriculum requirements can range from teaching from a very structured lesson plan, to simply logging on and speaking conversationally with students all over the world who wish to improve their English speaking skills. Check out all of the opportunities to find one that fits you best!
How to Plan a Trip on a Budget
Now that you have looked into some great options for how to get paid while you travel, let’s discuss the next biggie: how to plan a trip on a budget! This is for all of you guys who have big travel dreams on a less-than-luxury budget (me!).Cheap Plane Tickets- How to Book Cheap Flights
Tip number one is pretty obvious, but if you have time before you leave on the trip, book your plane tickets way in advance! The sooner you book the tickets, the cheaper they will be. Secret travel hack? Before booking your plane tickets, clear all of your cookies on your computer. If you’ve been searching around trying to find the best cheap plane tickets, sometimes travel companies will jack up the price on you! Clear your cache and cookies before doing your final search and purchase. One more weird tip: book your flight on a Tuesday! Research shows that flights are typically at their lowest price on Tuesdays. Happy flying!Travel with a Buddy!
If you have a friend or two along for the adventure with you, you can definitely take the overall cost waaaay down for your trip! If you are going on a road trip, the more people chipping in for gas, the better. Also, you can cut down on costs for places to stay by splitting the cost for a room and bunking in together! Time to plan your next girls’ trip!Use a Home Renting Service instead of a Hotel!
Hotels charge by the night per room, obviously. If you’re traveling solo, this is likely still your best option. However, if you are traveling in a larger group with multiple families or couples, or just way too many friends to pack into one hotel room, try renting a house instead! Often, splitting the cost of a rental house or condo is cheaper than each paying for a hotel room, plus the cost of food goes way down when you have a kitchen and don’t have to eat out for every meal! Try it out on your next group adventure!Book an Adventure Retreat!
When you join a community of people who share your passion for travel, you can get great rates for group retreats to amazing locations that you might not be able to afford on your own! Often, these retreats have a focus, such as adventure, island hopping, yoga, surfing, and more. Join the Facebook group Girls Love Getting Paid while They Travel to try out the next community retreat! It’s a super fun way to cultivate friendships, learn about different cultures, and experience the world, without having to pay for all of the luxury activities separately. It’s pretty awesome for people with extreme wanderlust!
