We all know that sitting down for long stretches of time can wreck havoc on our health (sitting too much has been related to both high blood pressure and obesity). Even if you live an overall healthy lifestyle your main problem could be the fact that too much typing on the computer, texting, or sitting in general at work or at home, car can give you a tight upper back, neck and shoulders. I try to change things up as much as I can when I’m working to give my body a break – it helps to have a busy family live and other activities, but I still spend hours through out my day in a sitting position. Posture is super important when you’re doing office, seated work, and to keep my body soft and happy throughout a long, day I always make sure to pause for some "Office Yoga", taking a stretch break.! There are stretches and poses you can do sitting in your office chair, perhaps a stability ball, no yoga mat or stretchy pants required, to help both your mind and body feel great and alert throughout the day. This sequence below is designed to create space in the neck, shoulders, hips and hamstrings- all without breaking a sweat! You can do these exercises in your office clothes, but take off your high heals/shoes if you can and any tight jacket that might decrease your range of motion. Let's get to it!
