"King of My Heart" by John Mark McMillan is a worship song off of his new EP "You Are the Avalanche". The collection of songs were written with McMillan's wife, Sarah, who also originally sang "King of My Heart". McMillan also was the original singer and songwriter of the household name, worship song "How He Loves". I am often inspired by McMillan's writing; he writes honestly and poetically all wrapped up into one package. I've seen him live before and he would take classic songs such as: "Stand By Me" by Ben E. King and "Can't Help Falling In Love With You" by Elvis Presley, and turn them into a song made for worshipping the Lord. In a live show, McMillan brings an eccentric vibe in His music that inclines your soul towards the heavens; reminding us that worship is meant to be focused and intense, but it is also a time of rejoicing because of your salvation. The other tracks that are featured on his "You Are the Avalanche - EP" are: "The Goodness", "Walk Around My House", "King of My Heart", "Heart Won't Stop", and "Glorious Things". "Heart Won't Stop" was a song that I first heard at his live show, and it was my favorite song of the night. The melody, the words, the Biblical Truth really spoke to my soul; I love how he takes what we think should be "proper worship music" and he turns it into something unique and personal. Overall, I greatly enjoyed covering his song, and I hope you enjoyed listening to it!
