In this video, How to deal with Anxiety, we are introduced
to John and Lindsey who share with us the worry and anxiety that consumed their lives and was harming their relationship.
Anxiety Attack Symptoms
John was experiencing what is known as anxiety attack symptoms. John was young, healthy and active, yet he was experiencing chest pain and shortness of breath and other physical symptoms. He was scared. Many adults suffer from these or
similar symptoms of anxiety. The
worry over his health and what would happen to his family only produced more
severe physical symptoms. The resulting hospital visit identified no physical
problems; however, he would need to learnhow to deal with
anxiety in order to return to a happy and productive lifestyle.
His first reaction was to withdraw and isolate himself. His relationships were
strained. Lindsey shares the hurt, fear and worry that this caused her as well.
She turned to prayer.
How to Deal with Anxiety
John and Lindsey turned to their church, the
friends there, to reading the Bible and to prayer. Understanding that anxiety and fear are pervasive in society and
learning to identify the cause and seeking the answers have made a very
positive change in their lives. Many of us struggle with anxiety attacks,anxiety disorders,
and various symptoms of anxiety. The message from
the pastor is regarding how to face these fears and finding Biblical helps in
order to deal with this debilitating malady in our lives.
Referring to the scripture from Philippians 4:4-9,
we are told to take these anxieties to the Lord in prayer - just to openly
acknowledge our fears to the Lord by talking with God. Then we are advised to
observe the other admonition of giving thanks. When we itemize the things for
which we are thankful, it brings balance into our lives, “Everything” is not
wrong. We can grasp the truisms. Perhaps we see where some things can be
“fixed” by obeying God, making the changes in lifestyle and changing the things
that we can. Those things we cannot change, we are told to give that to the
Lord in prayer.

“ Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is
noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if
anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. Put it into
practice.And the God of peacewill
be with you.”
Fear, Worry, and Anxiety
John found that fear,
worry and anxietyare addressed many
times in the Bible – because it is very real. He says he is learning to trust
God with everything, letting go of his own will and moving in the direction
that God is leading. In that, he is finding peace and victorious living.
How to Deal with Anxiety
So many of us can
relate to these symptoms of anxiety,
even to anxiety attacksor anxiety disorder. We need to heed the
admonition to obey and pray. Even for the strongest of men or women, the
worries are more than we can deal with alone. The answer is Jesus. Listen to
this video and find answers. You too can have a peace that passes all understanding
through Christ Jesus as you learn how to
